Mackenzie Steele always assumed she would be with her husband until death do us part. She thought they would be happy and in love. Ryker was still her best friend and she still loved him, but it had been months since they had any sort of intimacy. Sure they hugged and held hands, but that was it. Mackenzie felt lost and realized she wants to be happy and find the girl Ryker fell in love with. This leads her to do one of the hardest things in her life. Asking the father of her children and her very best friend to move out. Ryker is blindsided by this request. While he knew they had hit a rough spot he didn't realize it was that bad. Mackenzie saved his life and is the reason he is who he is today. Can Ryker find a way to save his marriage or is it already too late?

I absolutely loved Ryker and Mackenzie's story. Such passion and love between two people who experience a rough patch like so many people do in life. To see them work through their issues and the love and desire they have for each other is so heartwarming. Cheryl Douglas does a great job telling their story and introducing us to many great characters. While the kids do not a have huge role in this book they are apart of their story and the deceiving ways make for some fun entertainment. I look forward to reading more about the Steele brothers and the women who capture their attention! Hot alpha males, scorching sex scenes, wonderful writing, and a story line that keeps you turning the pages!

When one door closes, another one opens. I closed the door to my business for the last time in 2011, which left me with a decision. What now? Find another location and move my nutrition business, go to work for someone else, or take a chance on my dream? I chose the latter and I’ve never looked back! 

I’ve always loved reading and writing, but it wasn’t until I jumped in with both feet and decided writing would be my career, instead of just a hobby, that my muse woke up from her deep slumber. 

It was like someone flipped a switch inside my head and stories just came pouring out. At the end of the day, I would often look at the keyboard and wonder, ‘Who the heck wrote that? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me!’ 

I don’t write books. I tell stories, or rather, I allow my characters to tell their stories through me. I’m not a plotter, never have been, never will be. Why? Because I have no idea how the story will evolve and it’s not my place to manipulate it. My job is to get to know these characters, figure out what makes them tick, then follow their journey wherever it takes me. 

When I’m not writing, I’m daydreaming. Thankfully, I have an understanding husband and son who know I’ll re-join the land of the living just as soon as my muse decides it’s quitting time. I don’t work for myself. I work for her. She’s the boss. And I’m okay with that.
