My drug of choice was heroin.
Until they put me here against my will.
At the time it was my only viable choice.
I preferred stumbling through life numb to it all.
But now I’m here, and every sound and every emotion is heightened to a level I never knew existed.
Then somehow, in a moment of weakness it became all about him.
He makes me feel things I never thought possible.
I thought he was my antidote, but it turns out that he’s just my new drug of choice.

4.5

Tegan has lost total control of her life, she will do anything and everything for heroin. She has hit rock-bottom and that still doesn't make her want to stop.
However Tegan has a caring family and get her admitted into a rehab.
Tegan was angry but new deep down it was this or death.
She never expected to give up one drug for another. The new addiction came in the form of her therapist the one who gets her the one who makes her feel alive again.
Asher!
Asher fought his feelings for her and knew he didn't want to hurt her or worse yet make her use again.

AE Woodard novel titled Reprieve. I have read this author in the past and this totally threw me. I fell so hard for these characters. I wanted them to make it together. This writer has mastered several this in this novel. This story has a big sense of reality about life. The message is very important and it left me with a sense of understanding. The story flowed perfectly and I liked the way the chapters went from
Present
to
Past.
Also, the connection of this characters are so strong that as a reader you feel that you know what there going through even if you haven't been addicted to anything. For me that is powerful. I would love to read more of Asher & Tegan story.
I highly recommend this novel to readers very very well written and original!!!! Great job!
