Zara was a happy teenager. Content to sneak away to parties while her dad was gone on business. After all, he was Alpha of the pack. What could possibly go wrong? After waking up in a cage, Zara realizes her father is not who she thought he was. Using her powers to overthrow other packs, her father becomes more obsessed with power. Resigned to never finding her mate, Zara believes her life will never be the same and happiness is a dream. One, day while she is with her father's enforcers, she catches sight of a tall, dark, and blue eyed dream and everything clicks into place. Xavier has searched for his mate with no luck until he realizes his mate is in the visitor's black windowed SUV. After making her escape with Xavier, Zara realizes for the first time, she can still hope and love. But Zara's father will not let her go without a fight. Will Zara loose her mate after just finding him?

The author does a good job with the story once the story gets going. The story had a "jerky" beginning that eventually smoothed out. We first meet Zara in her bedroom headed for a party and the next thing she is at a meeting with her father and a rival pack. It caused a "wait, what?" moment for me. As I kept reading I finally figured out what the beginning was all about. When I finished the book I was left with more questions than answers. There were quite a few holes in the story that never reached a conclusion. Maybe the answers lie in the rest of the series. We will see.

Ryan Michele has a huge obsession with reading, which only came to life after her best friend said she had to read Twilight. After reading that series, her entire world changed in the blink of an eye. Not only was she sucked into new worlds and all of the wonderful words authors put down on paper, she felt the urge to begin to write down the characters that played inside of her head.
